Pick-Me-Ups of the Week #1
Hola amigos!
Everyone goes through shit. Everyday, we fight to choose good over evil, and sometimes it gets pretty fucking exhausting. There are always a slithers of hope when it comes to getting through the week and every week I want to share with you my slithers of hope - three things that put a teeny, tiny smile on my face. I am a little bit of a photo geek, so one will be a photo that I took because a meaningful picture always picks me up. One will be a quote I heard, and the last will be something random.
I hope this helps you the way it has helped me.

A moment. A split second in time. This photo was a lot of fun to take and I hope that you have a moment with someone that you can live in and remember forever.

I'm coming to the end of the Office, and yes this is the first time I'm finishing it. I know, I'm far behind. I know this is a comedy, but the ending of this show is really breaking my heart - not in the way that I'm sad that it's ending but in the way that there are some pretty beautiful shit in there. Here's one that really touched my heart, when Jim is talking to Dwight about marrying Angela because he clearly loves her, he thinks about his relationship with Pam, and says this:
"Dwight, listen: no matter what happens, you gotta forget about all the other stuff. You gotta forget about logic and fear and doubt. You just gotta do everything you can to get to the one woman who's gonna make all this worth it. At the end of the day you gotta jump. You love Angela, Dwight. I think you always have."

This book is the best book I have ever read. I was never a fan of non-fiction, but damn this book is soooo good. Nora taught me to look at things positively, and she is beautiful in the way that she laughs at her past experiences but finds ever bit of light in tough situations. Which is something that I wish I could do. The chapters are sooo short, so trust me if you're lazy like me, you can take breaks all the time until you finish it. When you're done, you'll look up and see the world as something pretty damn beautiful.
You're not alone. Ever.
