Pick-Me-Ups of the Week #3

Happy D-Day special friends -

For those of you who are going to a college, I'm happy for you. You did it!!!!! (Look at that, already a bonus pick-me-up!!) You actually did it - you're about to finish High School and start again as a freshman in a new school. Seems pretty fucking scary - but also damn exciting. I think it's time to start anew.

This week has been pretty stressful, given all the work we've had (Senior Spring is a myth guys), and APs starting today... But come now, Lauren is going to make it aaaalll better. It's time to put all that stressful shit away, and focus on breathing in all this good stuff - the stuff that makes your soul smile, breathe happy and pick you up from the depths of the Great Barrier Reef.

Ah, the best boyfriends I've ever had in my entire life. Meet Fishy McFish and Billy McWormy. Fishy McFishy was the prettiest boyfriend I've had, with majestic scales and illumisciant, holographic skin and sharp-ass scales. He was pretty dope. Still and cute, I loved him very much. But you know what they say - If you love something, let it go - and that's what I did with Fishy McFish - it was time for him to go home (sad face). But don't worry folks - I found myself a new handsome, big boy - Billy McWormy. Billy McWormy was so selfless. He was squishy and fun to hold in the palms of my hand - should've called him Cutie McCutie!! Unfortunately I stabbed him with a hook in a horrible accident and I'm pretty sure Fishy McFish ate him out of jealousy. But it's cool. They call it the Circle of Life.

Hahaha I'm funny.

Okay moving on :) -

On a more serious note, relationships are tough. I don't think any of mine have been easy - and I don't even mean this as a boyfriend girlfriend/mushy shit - I mean this even as friendships. They are hard to maintain and require lots, lots and I mean lots - of effort. Effort is hard, but to me - it seems worth it. Not giving a shit is easy, but so fucking lonely. It's about following what makes you a better person and locking that in your life. Maybe, it starts off with recognising whether or not someone is good for your life, does everything in their power to make you who you are, and maybe even better. If you have someone like that in your life - I'm so happy for you. I mean, you have everything. Everything

Given the upcoming situation of Prom, who else better than Troy Bolton himself. If you guys somehow forgotten High School Musical 3, Troy comes to Stanford during Prom to find Gabriella, who has every intention of trying to move on -

"Troy Bolton: I figured you'd be the last one out of the building.
Gabriella Montez: I don't believe this.
Troy Bolton: I took a wrong turn on the way to prom. So did you.
Gabriella Montez: You are so crazy, Wildcat. And what is it with you and trees?
Troy Bolton: I guess I see things clearly from up here.
Gabriella Montez: Well, you look handsome. Prom is tonight in Albuquerque, 1000 miles away.
Troy Bolton: [he jumps down from the tree] My prom is wherever you are.
[he pulls out a corsage]
Troy Bolton: If I'm gonna have a last dance at East High, it's gonna be with you.
[he puts it on her wrist]"

Don't give up someone important - someone who makes you a better version of who you already are. Someone that does anything in their power to help you, to be honest with you, and most importantly wants to be there for you. Love them.

On Saturday night, I was blessed to go to the Outcry Concert in Reading PA. It was a lot of work to organise, but we managed to pull it off. I'm so happy and grateful that I got to go. Thousands of hundred people gather in one place to celebrate one thing - God. I looked around at the Arena and was completely blown away by the kinds of people, young to old, small to big - here to celebrate life itself - a power so much vaster than ourselves, some thing we can barely the concept now. Everything about it was beautiful, the worship, the praise - the tears, the music and the lights. Everything came together to spread one message - and that was love. Love for God, love for the people around us, and for just being able to be there. I'm so grateful.

Here are some pictures - and I wish it could capture how much joy, gratefulness and Spirit that filled the room.

You shall never be alone.
